Problem-Focused Acute Visit

What Is a Problem-Focused Acute Visit?

Timely, integrative care for simple, short-term health concerns—without the urgent care wait.

Problem-Focused Acute Visits are brief, targeted appointments designed to address one mild or temporary health issue. These visits include a focused symptom review and exam when appropriate, with treatment options that may combine holistic therapies and medical care. This service is ideal for straightforward concerns that need prompt attention but do not require extensive workup or ongoing management.

Who This Service Is For

This service may be right for you if you:

  • Have a mild illness or flare-up that needs timely care

  • Want integrative treatment options alongside medical care

  • Prefer a personalized alternative to urgent care

  • Need evaluation for a single, uncomplicated concern

Conditions Commonly Treated

Problem-Focused Acute Visits may address:

  • Upper respiratory infections

  • Sinus infections and congestion

  • Bronchitis (non-emergent)

  • Mild COPD exacerbations

  • PMS and menstrual cycle concerns

  • Birth control initiation

  • Rashes and minor skin conditions

  • Inflammatory flares such as gout, bursitis, or osteoarthritis

What to Expect

Visits are approximately 20 minutes and may be conducted in person or virtually, depending on your needs. The visit focuses on one issue only to ensure efficient, high-quality care. Treatment may include holistic remedies, supportive therapies, or medications when clinically appropriate. Lab testing may be ordered if necessary and coordinated through an outside lab.

Our Integrative Approach

Our approach prioritizes symptom relief while supporting the body’s natural healing processes. When appropriate, holistic therapies are used to minimize side effects and promote recovery. For inflammatory conditions, non-invasive options may be discussed as alternatives or complements to medication.

When a Higher Level of Care Is Needed

This visit type is not appropriate for injuries, severe or unexplained symptoms, multiple concerns, or signs of medical emergency such as high fever, chest pain, shortness of breath, confusion, or significant fatigue. In these cases, urgent care or emergency evaluation may be recommended.
